Limited Edition run of 25

Winter is my favourite time on the west coast. Tourists are few and far between, the seascapes are more dramatic, waves for surfing are better, days like this can be enjoyed alone and a day of sun after relentless rain and so much more magnificent. I woke early one January morning to gather some reference photographs for a painting of Long Beach as I pleasantly and paitiently waited in the dark for the sun to meet me. I walked the tideline back and forth as the gulls do while trying to capture the right composition until I came upon this scene as Incinerator rock began to glow gold against warm skies reflected on wet sands.
